Hey everyone. I have been on my GLP-1 medication for almost a year now and wanted to get the community's take on something.

Collagen peptides for GLP-1 skin elasticity — what worked for you?

I have been reading through old threads but have not found exactly what I'm looking for. My situation: I recently experienced collagen peptides for glp-1 skin elasticity and I am not sure what to make of it.

Has anyone else dealt with this? What was your experience? My provider was not super helpful — just said to "monitor it" which is not exactly actionable advice lol.

Any input appreciated. Thanks in advance. 🙏

I respect pete_RVA perspective but I think this oversimplifies things a bit. Re: Collagen peptides for GLP-1 — the effect size varies considerably by population.

I am not saying pete_RVA wrong entirely — just that the picture is more nuanced than a blanket statement. The SURMOUNT data specifically shows baseline BMI-dependent responses.

As a healthcare provider, I want to add some clinical context to this discussion on Collagen peptides for GLP-1 skin.

Building on what pete_RVA said — the evidence base here is well-established. The key publications to reference are from the STEP program[1].

Key clinical points:

  1. Efficacy is dose-dependent and typically requires 4-5 weeks to reach steady state
  2. Side effect profile is predictable and usually manageable with standard protocols
  3. Monitoring should include baseline labs and follow-up at 3-month intervals
  4. Patient education significantly improves outcomes and adherence

Standard disclaimer: this is educational, not individualized medical advice.

Gonna push back on this one. Collagen peptides for GLP-1 skin is not that straightforward in my experience. I have been on this for 18 months and the reality is messier than the trials suggest.

Don't get me wrong — the medication works. But adherence is harder than people admit. We should be honest about that.
