Update on my situation with digestive enzyme supplementation what worked for — wanted to follow up since some of you asked.

2 months since my last post and things have changed a lot. Here is what happened:

Talked to my provider about the concerns raised in my previous thread and they had a different perspective.

Full details below. Thanks to everyone who responded last time — your input genuinely made a difference.

SurmountFan_IN's experience with Digestive enzyme resonates deeply with mine. I went through almost the identical process — starting dose, titration timeline, side effects, everything.

The main difference: I had more GI issues initially. But the overall trajectory has been remarkably similar. Down 49 lbs in 14 months.

One thing I would add that SurmountFan_IN did not mention: insurance coverage was a major hurdle.

Thanks for sharing this, SurmountFan_IN. A few questions about your Digestive enzyme experience:

  1. What dose are you currently on?
  2. How long before you noticed significant changes?
  3. Did your doctor have any specific recommendations about Digestive enzym?

I am in a similar boat and trying to learn from others' experiences before my next appointment.

OP here — wow, did not expect this much response! Thank you all for the thoughtful replies on Digestive enzyme.

To answer RegAffairsDC: my doctor and I discussed the options and went with brand.

Quick update: I have noticed more improvement since posting this. Thanks again for the evidence-based discussion — this is exactly why I posted in a science-based community. 🙏
