I'm posting this on behalf of my husband who is currently in the hospital. He's stable now but I need to warn everyone. My husband has been using compounded semaglutide from SynthPure Labs for about 2 months. On Thursday night he did his regular weekly injection (2.0mg). Within 4 hours he developed: - High fever (103.2F) - Severe pain and redness at the injection site spreading across his abdomen - Chills and rigors - Nausea and vomiting - Rapid heart rate I took him to the ER at 2am. They admitted him immediately. Blood cultures came back positive for Serratia marcescens — a gram-negative bacteria. The infectious disease doctor said the most likely source was a contaminated injectable product. He's been on IV antibiotics for 3 days now. Fever is coming down but they're keeping him for monitoring. The ID doctor said if we had waited longer it could have progressed to sepsis. The vial he was using is being tested by the hospital lab. I will update with results. If anyone is using SynthPure Labs products, PLEASE STOP immediately. This is not a joke. My husband almost died.

Oh my god. I am so sorry this happened. Serratia marcescens in an injectable product is an absolute nightmare scenario. This bacterium: - Is commonly found in non-sterile environments (soil, water, unclean surfaces) - Should NEVER be present in a sterile injectable product - Can cause serious bloodstream infections (bacteremia) - Can be resistant to multiple antibiotics This tells us that SynthPure's manufacturing environment is almost certainly not sterile. S. marcescens contamination typically indicates a fundamental failure in aseptic technique — we're talking about product being filled in an unclean environment without proper cleanroom protocols. I'm glad your husband is stable. IV antibiotics should clear the infection but he may need a prolonged course (2-4 weeks depending on severity). Please save that vial and all remaining SynthPure product as evidence. Do NOT throw anything away.

Serratia marcescens is a known contaminant in pharmaceutical settings where sterility is not maintained. It's actually one of the organisms the FDA specifically tests for in sterility assessments because it's an indicator of environmental contamination. The fact that it showed up in blood cultures directly linked to an injection tells me: 1. The product was never terminally sterilized (or sterilization failed) 2. There was no sterility testing on the final product 3. The manufacturing environment likely has widespread contamination This is not a one-off quality issue. If Serratia is growing in one vial, it's potentially in every vial from that manufacturing batch. Everyone with SynthPure product needs to stop using it NOW. I hope your husband recovers quickly. Please make sure the hospital reports this to the FDA through MedWatch. This needs to trigger an investigation.

EMERGENCY MOD ALERT SynthPure Labs is being moved to TIER 1 BLACKLIST immediately. This is the most serious safety incident we've documented. If you have SynthPure Labs products: 1. STOP ALL USE IMMEDIATELY 2. Do NOT discard the products — keep them as evidence 3. If you have used SynthPure products recently and experience ANY symptoms (fever, injection site reactions, malaise), seek medical attention immediately 4. Tell your doctor you may have been exposed to a contaminated injectable product 5. Report to FDA MedWatch 6. Contact us via ModMail so we can coordinate the community response We are taking this extremely seriously. A member of our community was hospitalized. This is exactly why product safety and vendor vetting matter.

I used SynthPure tirzepatide and had a bad injection site reaction 2 weeks ago. Red, swollen, warm, painful for about 5 days. I thought it was just a bad injection and didn't think much of it. After reading this I went to urgent care today. They drew blood cultures and started me on oral antibiotics as a precaution. They said since my symptoms resolved I'm probably fine but they want to be safe. I still have the vial. Is there somewhere I can send it for contamination testing?
