This is why I tell everyone: the tortoise wins this race. I did 0.25mg for 5 weeks, 0.5mg for 6 weeks, and I'm now 4 weeks into 1.0mg. Zero nausea at any point. My total weight loss is slower than some people here but I've never had a miserable day on this medication. The titration schedule is your friend.

Glad you're feeling better. One more thing to keep in mind — when you do eventually go back to 1.0mg (after 4+ weeks at 0.5mg), the transition should be much smoother because:

  1. Your GI receptors will have had proper time to desensitize at the 0.5mg level
  2. You'll have a higher steady-state baseline from consistent 0.5mg dosing
  3. The relative increase from 0.5→1.0 is a 2x jump, which is the largest percentage jump in the standard titration. After that, 1.0→1.7 is 1.7x and 1.7→2.4 is 1.4x

Some providers even add an intermediate 0.75mg step between 0.5 and 1.0 for patients who are particularly sensitive. Worth discussing if you're worried about a repeat experience.

The 0.75mg intermediate step is a great idea. I'll ask my provider. Thanks for the advice, you're a lifesaver on this forum. 🙌
