Update on my situation with book club currently reading "ultraprocessed people" — wanted to follow up since some of you asked.

2 months since my last post and things have changed a lot. Here is what happened:

Talked to my provider about the concerns raised in my previous thread and they had a different perspective.

Full details below. Thanks to everyone who responded last time — your input genuinely made a difference.

Book club currently reading — I actually dealt with this exact situation around month 3.

Short answer: talk to your prescriber first. Longer answer: I wrote about my experience in the results forum if you want the full details.

Good question. For Book club currently reading, here is what the evidence says:

  • The clinical trial data (SUSTAIN program) supports this approach
  • Real-world results from this community generally confirm the trial findings
  • Individual variation is real — give it at least 8 weeks before judging

Happy to go deeper on any of these points if helpful.

To answer the question about Book club currently reading "Ultraprocessed People" by Chris van Tulleken — in my experience this comes down to a few key factors.

I have been dealing with this for over a year now, and what I have found is that individual responses really do vary. That said, the general consensus on Book club currently reading seems solid.

What specifically worked for me: getting baseline labs before making any changes. I would suggest LibrarianMeg try the same approach and reporting back.

Slightly tangential to Book club currently but Dr.Martinez reminded me — has anyone else noticed changes in their alcohol tolerance?

I know it is not exactly on-topic but it seems related enough to ask here rather than starting a new thread. Apologies if this has been covered — I did search first.
