Hey everyone. I have been on semaglutide for 3 months now and wanted to get the community's take on something.

Remission of T2DM on GLP-1 — September 2026

I have been reading through old threads but have not found exactly what I'm looking for. My situation: my doctor suggested remission of t2dm on glp-1 september and I am not sure what to make of it.

Has anyone else dealt with this? What was your experience? My endo was not super helpful — just said to "monitor it" which is not exactly actionable advice lol.

Any input appreciated. Thanks in advance. 🙏

mike.trainer_LA's experience with Remission of T2DM on resonates deeply with mine. I went through almost the identical process — starting dose, titration timeline, side effects, everything.

The main difference: I titrated faster. But the overall trajectory has been remarkably similar. Down 40 lbs in 5 months.

One thing I would add that mike.trainer_LA did not mention: the relationship with food fundamentally changed.

Thanks for sharing this, mike.trainer_LA. A few questions about your Remission of T2DM on experience:

  1. What dose did you start at?
  2. How long before you noticed side effects improving?
  3. Did your provider have any specific recommendations about Remission of?

I am in a similar boat and trying to learn from others' experiences before my next appointment.

OP here — wow, did not expect this much response! Thank you all for the thoughtful replies on Remission of T2DM on.

To answer fiona_glasgow: yes, I am on compounded sema from a 503B pharmacy.

Quick update: things are still going well. Thanks again for the evidence-based discussion — this is exactly why I posted in a science-based community. 🙏

Relevant to Remission of T2DM on GLP-1 — here is my latest bloodwork comparison:

Key improvements: A1C 8.4% → 5.5%, triglycerides 193 → 93 mg/dL, hsCRP 8.0 → 1.1 mg/L. All on tirzepatide for 9 months.

The inflammatory marker drop is what impresses me most. Consistent with the SELECT trial's cardiovascular findings.
