To answer Dr.CardioMD's question specifically:

From a clinical standpoint, So the drug literally changes is well-supported by the literature.

The short answer: follow the standard titration protocol and reassess at 4-6 weeks.

The longer answer involves pharmacokinetic considerations around steady-state concentrations, which I am happy to elaborate on if helpful.

Relevant to So the drug literally changes — here is my latest bloodwork comparison:

Key improvements: A1C 8.4% → 5.5%, triglycerides 217 → 117 mg/dL, hsCRP 8.0 → 1.1 mg/L. All on tirzepatide for 9 months.

The inflammatory marker drop is what impresses me most. Consistent with the SELECT trial's cardiovascular findings.

OP here — wow, did not expect this much response! Thank you all for the thoughtful replies on So the drug literally.

To answer Dr.PulmRoch: I get my labs done through Quest every 3 months.

Quick update: my latest labs came back even better. Thanks again for the evidence-based discussion — this is exactly why I posted in a science-based community. 🙏

Key improvements: A1C 8.0% → 5.3%, triglycerides 219 → 119 mg/dL, hsCRP 6.0 → 1.3 mg/L. All on tirzepatide for 11 months.

The inflammatory marker drop is what impresses me most. Consistent with the SELECT trial's cardiovascular findings.

Want to share my personal experience related to So the drug literally changes since I think it might help others in a similar situation.

I started my GLP-1 journey in October 2024 at 245 lbs with prediabetes and hypertension. My endocrinologist prescribed semaglutide 0.25mg to start.

Now, 12 months later: I am down 35 lbs, my labs have normalized, and I am off 2 of my 3 medications. The So the drug aspect specifically was something that made a big difference in my journey.

This community helped me every step of the way.
