OP here — wow, did not expect this much response! Thank you all for the thoughtful replies on Fasting insulin levels .

To answer PeptideChemSF: yes, I am on compounded sema from a 503B pharmacy.

Quick update: things are still going well. Thanks again for the evidence-based discussion — this is exactly why I posted in a science-based community. 🙏

NicoleRaleigh — that is really helpful context on Fasting insulin levels . Follow-up question: did you experience any side effects during this phase?

I am in a similar situation (about to start) and trying to set realistic expectations.

Want to share my personal experience related to Fasting insulin levels since I think it might help others in a similar situation.

I started my GLP-1 journey in March 2025 at 271 lbs with metabolic syndrome. My telehealth provider prescribed semaglutide 0.25mg to start.

Now, 10 months later: I am down 81 lbs, my labs have normalized, and my sleep apnea has improved dramatically. The Fasting insulin aspect specifically was something that made a big difference in my journey.

This forum was my go-to resource throughout.

Just wanted to say — for anyone reading this Fasting insulin thread who is feeling discouraged: it gets better. The first month are the hardest. Hang in there. 💪
