Hey fam, my old Fitbit finally died (RIP, you served me well 2021-2026 😢) and I need a new fitness tracker. Requirements: - Good body composition tracking (want to make sure I'm not losing too much muscle on tirz) - Accurate heart rate for workouts - Sleep tracking that doesn't suck - Battery life that lasts more than 2 days - Not ugly lol Budget is flexible but I'd rather not spend $800. What are y'all using?

The Garmin Venu 4 is honestly incredible. Dropped in January 2026 and it checks every box you listed. Body composition estimation (uses the new bioimpedance sensors — not DEXA accurate but great for trends), HRV tracking, sleep scores that actually make sense, and the battery lasts like 8-9 days in smartwatch mode. I paid $450. Best purchase I've made this year aside from my sema prescription 😂 The body comp trending has been SO helpful for making sure I'm keeping muscle. It shows you lean mass vs fat mass over time. Super motivating.

I know this is the obvious answer but the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is just... *chef's kiss* if you're already in the Apple ecosystem. The new metabolic rate sensor is actually really interesting for us GLP-1 folks — it estimates your resting metabolic rate and you can see how it changes over time. Mine has dropped a bit since starting tirz which tracks with the research. Battery is 60 hours which isn't Garmin territory but way better than old Apple Watches. It's $799 though so... yeah. Over your budget. But worth mentioning 🍎

Hot take: the Samsung Galaxy Ring 2 is underrated for $249. No screen obviously, but: - Sleep tracking is the best in the business - Body temp monitoring - Heart rate and HRV - 7 day battery - Looks like a normal ring so nobody knows you're a health nerd I wear it WITH my regular cheap watch. Best of both worlds. The app gives you all the data you need. For workouts I just use my phone or the gym equipment's built-in HR monitor 🤷

that Garmin Venu 4 sounds perfect honestly. The body comp trending is exactly what I need. the metabolic rate sensor is cool but yeah $800 is steep. Maybe when it goes on sale 😬 I didn't even think about smart rings! That's a creative solution. Does the Galaxy Ring 2 sync with MyFitnessPal or Cronometer?
