Same experience here with Non-scale victories. labquiet_amy described it perfectly.

Gonna push back on this one. Non-scale victories thread what is not that straightforward in my experience. I have been on this for 12 months and the reality is messier than the trials suggest.

Don't get me wrong — the medication works. But cost accessibility is a real barrier. We should be honest about that.

Want to share my personal experience related to Non-scale victories thread since I think it might help others in a similar situation.

I started my GLP-1 journey in October 2024 at 277 lbs with prediabetes and hypertension. My endocrinologist prescribed semaglutide 0.25mg to start.

Now, 16 months later: I am down 72 lbs, my labs have normalized, and I am off 2 of my 3 medications. The Non-scale victories aspect specifically was something that made a big difference in my journey.

This community helped me every step of the way.

SkepticalSean — that is really helpful context on Non-scale victories. Follow-up question: what labs did your doctor order to monitor this?

I am in a similar situation (just started) and trying to set realistic expectations.
