Slightly tangential to Type 1.5 diabetes (LADA) but WendyG_ATL reminded me — has anyone else noticed changes in their alcohol tolerance?

I know it is not exactly on-topic but it seems related enough to ask here rather than starting a new thread. Apologies if this has been covered — I did search first.

Thanks for sharing this, WendyG_ATL. A few questions about your Type 1.5 diabetes experience:

  1. What dose are you currently on?
  2. How long before you noticed significant changes?
  3. Did your doctor have any specific recommendations about Type 1.5 diabet?

I am in a similar boat and trying to learn from others' experiences before my next appointment.

OP here — wow, did not expect this much response! Thank you all for the thoughtful replies on Type 1.5 diabetes (LADA).

To answer pam_stl: I get my labs done through Quest every 3 months.

Quick update: my latest labs came back even better. Thanks again for the evidence-based discussion — this is exactly why I posted in a science-based community. 🙏

Relevant to Type 1.5 diabetes (LADA) and — here is my latest bloodwork comparison:

Key improvements: A1C 7.2% → 5.3%, triglycerides 231 → 101 mg/dL, hsCRP 6.0 → 1.3 mg/L. All on tirzepatide for 11 months.

The inflammatory marker drop is what impresses me most. Consistent with the SELECT trial's cardiovascular findings.
