Anyone else feel guilty for using a drug to lose weight?

Curious where everyone stands on this. I have seen strong opinions both ways in other threads and want to get a proper read on the community consensus.

For context: anyone else feel guilty for using is something I've been going back and forth on. Some members seem to swear by one approach, others recommend the opposite.

Drop your experience below β€” even if it is just a quick "this worked" or "this did not work" that helps. Detailed responses obviously welcome too.

Let's get some data points going πŸ“Š

Gonna push back on this one. Anyone else feel guilty for using a is not that straightforward in my experience. I have been on this for 12 months and the reality is messier than the trials suggest.

Don't get me wrong β€” the medication works. But cost accessibility is a real barrier. We should be honest about that.

This is exactly right. SaraMom3 articulated what I have been trying to explain to my doctor for months. The Anyone else feel guilty aspect is the most important factor.

Clinical perspective on Anyone else feel guilty for using a drug:

I have managed ~150 patients on GLP-1 therapy and this topic comes up frequently. What the data shows β€” and what I see in practice β€” is that proper titration prevents most adverse events.

For this specific question, I would recommend: reviewing the relevant clinical guidelines.

I respect Dr.EndoIndy perspective but I think this oversimplifies things a bit. Re: Anyone else feel guilty for β€” the effect size varies considerably by population.

I am not saying Dr.EndoIndy wrong entirely β€” just that the picture is more nuanced than a blanket statement. The SURMOUNT data specifically shows baseline BMI-dependent responses.
