Quick question for the group — pet photos thread looking for input.

I searched before posting (promise!) but the threads I found were from last year and things seem to have changed since then.

My situation: I'm just starting out and this came up during my last appointment. My doctor mentioned it but did not go into detail.

Would love to hear from people who've actually dealt with this. What worked? What didn't? What do you wish someone had told you?

Thanks everyone — this forum has been invaluable for me.

Gonna push back on this one. Pet photos thread looking for is not that straightforward in my experience. I have been on this for 18 months and the reality is messier than the trials suggest.

Don't get me wrong — the medication works. But adherence is harder than people admit. We should be honest about that.

This is exactly right. Dr.EndoEP articulated what I have been trying to explain to my friends for months. The Pet photos thread aspect is what made the difference for me.

Clinical perspective on Pet photos thread looking for input:

I have managed ~150 patients on GLP-1 therapy and this topic comes up frequently. What the data shows — and what I see in practice — is that the medication works best as part of a comprehensive approach.

For this specific question, I would recommend: getting comprehensive baseline labs first.

I respect LipidDoc_ATL perspective but I think this oversimplifies things a bit. Re: Pet photos thread looking for — the subgroup analyses show meaningful heterogeneity.

I am not saying LipidDoc_ATL wrong entirely — just that the picture is more nuanced than a blanket statement. The SURMOUNT data specifically shows baseline BMI-dependent responses.
