Anyone else dealing with how far away are we really from a cost perspective?

I have been paying $280/month and I am trying to get insurance to cover it.

Share what you are paying and what you are getting — transparency helps everyone.

Gonna push back on this one. How far away are we really from an is not that straightforward in my experience. I have been on this for 18 months and the reality is messier than the trials suggest.

Don't get me wrong — the medication works. But adherence is harder than people admit. We should be honest about that.

This is exactly right. HPLC_Greg articulated what I have been trying to explain to my friends for months. The How far away are we aspect is what made the difference for me.

Clinical perspective on How far away are we really from an oral:

I have managed ~150 patients on GLP-1 therapy and this topic comes up frequently. What the data shows — and what I see in practice — is that the medication works best as part of a comprehensive approach.

For this specific question, I would recommend: getting comprehensive baseline labs first.

I respect JenMemphis perspective but I think this oversimplifies things a bit. Re: How far away are we really — the subgroup analyses show meaningful heterogeneity.

I am not saying JenMemphis wrong entirely — just that the picture is more nuanced than a blanket statement. The SURMOUNT data specifically shows baseline BMI-dependent responses.
