Putting together a summary on social media comparison trap my results since I keep seeing the same questions pop up.

I am not a medical professional (just a well-researched patient) so take this with appropriate salt, but I have compiled info from the clinical trials.

Happy to be corrected by the actual clinicians here — that is the whole point of posting it.

PeptideChemSF's experience with Social media comparison resonates deeply with mine. I went through almost the identical process — starting dose, titration timeline, side effects, everything.

The main difference: I started 3 months later. But the overall trajectory has been remarkably similar. Down 58 lbs in 13 months.

One thing I would add that PeptideChemSF did not mention: the mental health improvements were just as significant.

Thanks for sharing this, PeptideChemSF. A few questions about your Social media experience:

  1. What dose are you currently on?
  2. How long before you noticed significant changes?
  3. Did your doctor have any specific recommendations about Social media?

I am in a similar boat and trying to learn from others' experiences before my next appointment.

OP here — wow, did not expect this much response! Thank you all for the thoughtful replies on Social media comparison.

To answer wanda_boise: I get my labs done through Quest every 3 months.

Quick update: my latest labs came back even better. Thanks again for the evidence-based discussion — this is exactly why I posted in a science-based community. 🙏

Relevant to Social media comparison trap — here is my latest bloodwork comparison:

Key improvements: A1C 7.2% → 5.3%, triglycerides 231 → 101 mg/dL, hsCRP 6.0 → 1.3 mg/L. All on tirzepatide for 11 months.

The inflammatory marker drop is what impresses me most. Consistent with the SELECT trial's cardiovascular findings.
