Okay I need help with this β€” my wife thinks i am crazy.

I have been dealing with this for way too long and I am getting frustrated. Googling just gives me contradictory information and my endo does not seem to take it seriously.

Please tell me someone here has been through this and come out the other side. What did you do? What finally worked?

I know there are some really knowledgeable people on this forum so I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. 😩

To answer the question about My wife thinks I am crazy for doing this lol β€” in my experience this comes down to a few key factors.

I have been dealing with this for several months now, and what I have found is that individual responses really do vary. That said, the general consensus on My wife thinks I am crazy for seems solid.

What specifically worked for me: tracking everything in a spreadsheet. I would suggest DadBodDave try the same approach and reporting back.

Completely agree with BariatricNurseD. I would add that My wife thinks I am crazy for also has implications for body composition that sometimes get overlooked in these discussions.

In my case, following a similar approach led to fewer side effects compared to what I was doing before.

As a healthcare provider, I want to add some clinical context to this discussion on My wife thinks I am crazy for doing this.

Building on what DadBodDave said β€” the evidence base here is well-established. The key publications to reference are from the STEP program[1].

Key clinical points:

  1. Efficacy is dose-dependent and typically requires 4-5 weeks to reach steady state
  2. Side effect profile is predictable and usually manageable with standard protocols
  3. Monitoring should include baseline labs and follow-up at 3-month intervals
  4. Patient education significantly improves outcomes and adherence

Standard disclaimer: this is educational, not individualized medical advice.
