Hey everyone. I have been on tirzepatide for about 6 months now and wanted to get the community's take on something.

Should I be worried about my heart rate going up?

I have been reading through old threads but have not found exactly what I'm looking for. My situation: I have been wondering about should i be worried about my and I am not sure what to make of it.

Has anyone else dealt with this? What was your experience? My PCP was not super helpful β€” just said to "monitor it" which is not exactly actionable advice lol.

Any input appreciated. Thanks in advance. πŸ™

To answer the question about Should I be worried about my heart rate going up? β€” in my experience this comes down to a few key factors.

I have been dealing with this for several months now, and what I have found is that individual responses really do vary. That said, the general consensus on Should I be worried about my seems solid.

What specifically worked for me: tracking everything in a spreadsheet. I would suggest nick_newbie try the same approach and reporting back.

Completely agree with Dr.SurgeonPGH. I would add that Should I be worried about my also has implications for body composition that sometimes get overlooked in these discussions.

In my case, following a similar approach led to fewer side effects compared to what I was doing before.

As a healthcare provider, I want to add some clinical context to this discussion on Should I be worried about my heart rate.

Building on what nick_newbie said β€” the evidence base here is well-established. The key publications to reference are from the FLOW program[1].

Key clinical points:

  1. Efficacy is dose-dependent and typically requires 4-5 weeks to reach steady state
  2. Side effect profile is predictable and usually manageable with standard protocols
  3. Monitoring should include baseline labs and follow-up at 3-month intervals
  4. Patient education significantly improves outcomes and adherence

Standard disclaimer: this is educational, not individualized medical advice.
