Ok can we talk about "Ozempic face" without being dramatic about it? I've lost 60lbs and yes, my face looks different. My sister said I look "gaunt" and now I can't stop staring in the mirror. Is the volume loss real or am I just seeing a thinner version of myself and not used to it??

Nurse here (derm clinic). Yes, facial volume loss with rapid weight loss is real and it's not unique to GLP-1s. It happens with ANY significant weight loss. The media just branded it "Ozempic face" because it gets clicks. Collagen support, hydration, and retinol can help. Some patients do filler but honestly most people adjust to their new face within a few months.

The whole "Ozempic face" thing is just another way to shame people for using medication tbh. You look different because you lost weight. That's... how it works. Nobody calls it "diet face" or "gastric bypass face." 🙄

I'll be real I was worried about this too. Lost 45lbs and yeah my face is thinner. But you know what? I also don't have a double chin anymore and my jawline showed up for the first time since college. Trade-offs, man.
