I gave up on insurance and went compounded. Paying $250/month out of pocket. Is it ideal? No. But I wasn't going to wait...

We don't judge anyone's path to treatment here. Compounded tirz has its own risk/benefit profile and we have dedicated threads for discussing quality and sourcing. What matters is that you're getting treatment.

That said — for anyone still fighting the insurance battle, DON'T give up before requesting the peer-to-peer. the advice above is spot-on.

UPDATE: Peer-to-peer worked!!!! Approved for 6 months, then re-review. I could cry. Starting 2.5mg next week.

Kelly, Jessica — thank you. The peer-to-peer really was the magic bullet. My endo cited SURMOUNT trial data and my specific comorbidities and the insurance doc approved it in 15 minutes after the call.

DON'T GIVE UP PEOPLE. 🎉

SO happy for you Rob! And the 6-month review is standard — just make sure your endo documents your progress at each visit. If you're losing weight and your comorbidities are improving, reauthorization is almost always straightforward.

The hardest part is getting through the door. You did it. 💪

Rob that's amazing!!! Welcome to the tirz club! 🎊

Quick tip for your first fill — call the pharmacy 3-4 days before you need it. Zepbound availability is better now than it was last year but some pharmacies still need to order it. And get your savings card set up ASAP. Good luck!
