Derek makes an important point. The purpose of my post isn't to scare people away from compounding — it's to emphasize that IF you go compounded, you should:

  1. Use a 503B facility if possible
  2. Ask for certificates of analysis (CoA)
  3. Consider third-party testing, especially for a new source
  4. Look for proper labeling, packaging, and documentation
  5. Be wary of prices that seem too good to be true

The delta between Source A and Source B in my testing shows that not all compound is created equal. A little due diligence goes a long way.

Pinning this for the compound quality FAQ. James, thank you for putting your own money into this testing and sharing it with the community.

Reminder to everyone: we allow discussion of compounded medications on this forum as long as it stays within our rules. No sourcing, no direct vendor names in open threads, and no medical advice. DMs are your business. Stay safe everyone. 🙏

Happy to help. I'll do another round of testing in 3 months with new batches from both sources and update the thread. Consistency over time is just as important as a single good result.

Test. Don't trust. Inject responsibly.
