Hi all, brand new here. My NP just prescribed semaglutide and I have a question about new zealand medsafe may 2025.

Sorry if this has been asked before — I did try searching but the amount of information here is overwhelming (in a good way). I am on day 3 and everything is new to me.

Any guidance appreciated. You all seem really knowledgeable and I am glad I found this community.

bbq_ray_KC's experience with New Zealand Medsafe May resonates deeply with mine. I went through almost the identical process — starting dose, titration timeline, side effects, everything.

The main difference: I titrated faster. But the overall trajectory has been remarkably similar. Down 32 lbs in 7 months.

One thing I would add that bbq_ray_KC did not mention: the relationship with food fundamentally changed.

Thanks for sharing this, bbq_ray_KC. A few questions about your New Zealand Medsafe experience:

  1. What dose are you currently on?
  2. How long before you noticed significant changes?
  3. Did your doctor have any specific recommendations about New Zealand?

I am in a similar boat and trying to learn from others' experiences before my next appointment.

OP here — wow, did not expect this much response! Thank you all for the thoughtful replies on New Zealand Medsafe May.

To answer Dr.RenalNash: yes, I am on compounded sema from a 503B pharmacy.

Quick update: things are still going well. Thanks again for the evidence-based discussion — this is exactly why I posted in a science-based community. 🙏

Relevant to New Zealand Medsafe May 2025 — here is my latest bloodwork comparison:

Key improvements: A1C 8.4% → 5.5%, triglycerides 225 → 95 mg/dL, hsCRP 8.0 → 1.3 mg/L. All on tirzepatide for 17 months.

The inflammatory marker drop is what impresses me most. Consistent with the SELECT trial's cardiovascular findings.
