Clinical perspective on Lipid panel improvements mega-thread :

I have managed roughly 300 patients on GLP-1 therapy and this topic comes up frequently. What the data shows — and what I see in practice — is that the medication works best as part of a comprehensive approach.

For this specific question, I would recommend: getting comprehensive baseline labs first.

I respect Admin perspective but I think this oversimplifies things a bit. Re: Lipid panel improvements — the subgroup analyses show meaningful heterogeneity.

I am not saying Admin wrong entirely — just that the picture is more nuanced than a blanket statement. The STEP data specifically shows dose-dependent variation.

Reading this thread on Lipid panel improvements hits close to home. Night shift nurse — I started at 299 lbs and felt like I would tried everything.

15 months on tirz and I am a different person. Not just the 74 lbs lost — my energy, my mood, my relationship with food. All transformed.

If you are on the fence about Lipid panel — take the leap. It was the best health decision I have ever made. ❤️
