To answer stefan_berlin's question specifically:

From a clinical standpoint, Bacteriostatic water sourcing is a reasonable concern that deserves a thorough answer.

The short answer: the evidence supports this approach for most patients.

The longer answer involves reviewing the specific clinical trial data relevant to your question, which I am happy to elaborate on if helpful.

Slightly tangential to Bacteriostatic water but NicoleRaleigh reminded me — what is the latest on the oral formulations?

I know it is not exactly on-topic but it seems related enough to ask here rather than starting a new thread. Apologies if this has been covered — I did search first.

OP here — wow, did not expect this much response! Thank you all for the thoughtful replies on Bacteriostatic water.

To answer Dr.GastroMayo: my doctor and I discussed the options and went with brand.

Quick update: I have noticed more improvement since posting this. Thanks again for the evidence-based discussion — this is exactly why I posted in a science-based community. 🙏

Slightly tangential to Bacteriostatic water but NicoleRaleigh reminded me — has anyone else noticed changes in their alcohol tolerance?

I know it is not exactly on-topic but it seems related enough to ask here rather than starting a new thread. Apologies if this has been covered — I did search first.

This thread is incredible for Bacteriostatic water info. Better than most online groups.
