Should I be worried about my heart rate going up? — my results so far

Saw this come across my feed today and thought the community would want to discuss.

Should I be worried about my is something that affects a lot of us here, and the latest information is worth paying attention to. I'll share what I know and hopefully others can fill in the gaps.

Key points as I understand them:

  • This has been evolving over the past few months
  • There are different perspectives on how to approach it
  • The practical implications depend on your specific situation

What are you all hearing from your providers about this? Anyone have direct experience to share?

MikeFit_NJ's experience with Should I be worried about resonates deeply with mine. I went through almost the identical process — starting dose, titration timeline, side effects, everything.

The main difference: I started 3 months later. But the overall trajectory has been remarkably similar. Down 54 lbs in 9 months.

One thing I would add that MikeFit_NJ did not mention: the mental health improvements were just as significant.

Thanks for sharing this, MikeFit_NJ. A few questions about your Should I be worried experience:

  1. What dose worked best for you?
  2. How long before you noticed appetite suppression kicking in?
  3. Did your endo have any specific recommendations about Should I be?

I am in a similar boat and trying to learn from others' experiences before my next appointment.

OP here — wow, did not expect this much response! Thank you all for the thoughtful replies on Should I be worried about.

To answer Dr.MetabolicMD: I get my labs done through Quest every 3 months.

Quick update: my latest labs came back even better. Thanks again for the evidence-based discussion — this is exactly why I posted in a science-based community. 🙏

Relevant to Should I be worried about my — here is my latest bloodwork comparison:

Key improvements: A1C 8.0% → 5.3%, triglycerides 227 → 97 mg/dL, hsCRP 6.0 → 0.9 mg/L. All on tirzepatide for 7 months.

The inflammatory marker drop is what impresses me most. Consistent with the SELECT trial's cardiovascular findings.
