Trying to decide between options regarding vitamin b12 monitoring 6 month update and could use some input from people who have been there.

My situation: been on sema for 6 months considering a switch.

I have read the wiki and FAQ but real-world experiences would help me make a decision. What would you do in my position?

emma_london's experience with Vitamin B12 monitoring 6 resonates deeply with mine. I went through almost the identical process — starting dose, titration timeline, side effects, everything.

The main difference: I started 3 months later. But the overall trajectory has been remarkably similar. Down 30 lbs in 5 months.

One thing I would add that emma_london did not mention: the mental health improvements were just as significant.

Thanks for sharing this, emma_london. A few questions about your Vitamin B12 experience:

  1. What dose are you currently on?
  2. How long before you noticed significant changes?
  3. Did your doctor have any specific recommendations about Vitamin B12?

I am in a similar boat and trying to learn from others' experiences before my next appointment.

OP here — wow, did not expect this much response! Thank you all for the thoughtful replies on Vitamin B12 monitoring 6.

To answer LibrarianMeg: I get my labs done through Quest every 3 months.

Quick update: my latest labs came back even better. Thanks again for the evidence-based discussion — this is exactly why I posted in a science-based community. 🙏

Relevant to Vitamin B12 monitoring 6 — here is my latest bloodwork comparison:

Key improvements: A1C 8.0% → 5.3%, triglycerides 243 → 113 mg/dL, hsCRP 6.0 → 1.3 mg/L. All on tirzepatide for 11 months.

The inflammatory marker drop is what impresses me most. Consistent with the SELECT trial's cardiovascular findings.
