Update on my situation with lp(a) on glp-1 agonists anyone have — wanted to follow up since some of you asked.

2 months since my last post and things have changed a lot. Here is what happened:

Talked to my provider about the concerns raised in my previous thread and they had a different perspective.

Full details below. Thanks to everyone who responded last time — your input genuinely made a difference.

CryptoCarl's experience with Lp(a) on GLP-1 agonists resonates deeply with mine. I went through almost the identical process — starting dose, titration timeline, side effects, everything.

The main difference: I titrated faster. But the overall trajectory has been remarkably similar. Down 52 lbs in 7 months.

One thing I would add that CryptoCarl did not mention: the relationship with food fundamentally changed.

Thanks for sharing this, CryptoCarl. A few questions about your Lp(a) on GLP-1 experience:

  1. What dose are you currently on?
  2. How long before you noticed significant changes?
  3. Did your doctor have any specific recommendations about Lp(a) on GLP-1?

I am in a similar boat and trying to learn from others' experiences before my next appointment.

OP here — wow, did not expect this much response! Thank you all for the thoughtful replies on Lp(a) on GLP-1 agonists .

To answer nick_SD_fit: yes, I am on compounded sema from a 503B pharmacy.

Quick update: things are still going well. Thanks again for the evidence-based discussion — this is exactly why I posted in a science-based community. 🙏

Relevant to Lp(a) on GLP-1 agonists — here is my latest bloodwork comparison:

Key improvements: A1C 7.6% → 5.5%, triglycerides 225 → 95 mg/dL, hsCRP 8.0 → 1.3 mg/L. All on tirzepatide for 17 months.

The inflammatory marker drop is what impresses me most. Consistent with the SELECT trial's cardiovascular findings.
