To answer pete_RVA's question specifically:

From a clinical standpoint, Kidney function on semaglutide is something I discuss with patients regularly.

The short answer: discuss this specific situation with your prescribing provider.

The longer answer involves weighing the risk-benefit ratio for your individual situation, which I am happy to elaborate on if helpful.

Reading this thread on Kidney function on hits close to home. Dad of 2 checking in — I started at 297 lbs and felt like I would tried everything.

13 months on tirz and I am a different person. Not just the 72 lbs lost — my energy, my mood, my relationship with food. All transformed.

If you are on the fence about Kidney function on — take the leap. It was the best health decision I have ever made. ❤️

OP here — wow, did not expect this much response! Thank you all for the thoughtful replies on Kidney function on.

To answer CanadaChris: yes, I am on compounded sema from a 503B pharmacy.

Quick update: things are still going well. Thanks again for the evidence-based discussion — this is exactly why I posted in a science-based community. 🙏

SteveThurs — that is really helpful context on Kidney function on. Follow-up question: what labs did your doctor order to monitor this?

I am in a similar situation (just started) and trying to set realistic expectations.
