To answer A1cHero_PHX's question specifically:

From a clinical standpoint, Do I really need bloodwork is well-supported by the literature.

The short answer: follow the standard titration protocol and reassess at 4-6 weeks.

The longer answer involves pharmacokinetic considerations around steady-state concentrations, which I am happy to elaborate on if helpful.

Reading this thread on Do I really need hits close to home. Night shift nurse — I started at 271 lbs and felt like I would tried everything.

7 months on tirz and I am a different person. Not just the 46 lbs lost — my energy, my mood, my relationship with food. All transformed.

If you are on the fence about Do I really need — take the leap. It was the best health decision I have ever made. ❤️

OP here — wow, did not expect this much response! Thank you all for the thoughtful replies on Do I really need.

To answer gary_naperville: I get my labs done through Quest every 3 months.

Quick update: my latest labs came back even better. Thanks again for the evidence-based discussion — this is exactly why I posted in a science-based community. 🙏

Reading this thread on Do I really need hits close to home. Dad of 2 checking in — I started at 293 lbs and felt like I would tried everything.

9 months on tirz and I am a different person. Not just the 68 lbs lost — my energy, my mood, my relationship with food. All transformed.

If you are on the fence about Do I really need — take the leap. It was the best health decision I have ever made. ❤️

Dr.NephBHM_UK — that is really helpful context on Do I really need. Follow-up question: how long did you wait before increasing your dose?

I am in a similar situation (week 4) and trying to set realistic expectations.
