Putting together a summary on ferritin and iron studies on glp-1 since I keep seeing the same questions pop up.

I am not a medical professional (just a well-researched patient) so take this with appropriate salt, but I have compiled info from this forum and my own experience.

Happy to be corrected by the actual clinicians here — that is the whole point of posting it.

ZaraB_AL's experience with Ferritin and iron studies resonates deeply with mine. I went through almost the identical process — starting dose, titration timeline, side effects, everything.

The main difference: I am on a different medication. But the overall trajectory has been remarkably similar. Down 59 lbs in 14 months.

One thing I would add that ZaraB_AL did not mention: my sleep quality improved dramatically.

Thanks for sharing this, ZaraB_AL. A few questions about your Ferritin and iron experience:

  1. What dose are you currently on?
  2. How long before you noticed significant changes?
  3. Did your doctor have any specific recommendations about Ferritin and?

I am in a similar boat and trying to learn from others' experiences before my next appointment.

OP here — wow, did not expect this much response! Thank you all for the thoughtful replies on Ferritin and iron studies.

To answer Dr.PulmRoch: I started tracking everything in a spreadsheet from day 1.

Quick update: I will post a proper update thread soon. Thanks again for the evidence-based discussion — this is exactly why I posted in a science-based community. 🙏
