To answer ZaraB_AL's question specifically:

From a clinical standpoint, 24% weight loss number blew my is something I discuss with patients regularly.

The short answer: discuss this specific situation with your prescribing provider.

The longer answer involves weighing the risk-benefit ratio for your individual situation, which I am happy to elaborate on if helpful.

Slightly tangential to 24% weight loss number but ZaraB_AL reminded me — does anyone have experience combining this with metformin?

I know it is not exactly on-topic but it seems related enough to ask here rather than starting a new thread. Apologies if this has been covered — I did search first.

OP here — wow, did not expect this much response! Thank you all for the thoughtful replies on 24% weight loss number.

To answer ingrid_STO: yes, I am on compounded sema from a 503B pharmacy.

Quick update: things are still going well. Thanks again for the evidence-based discussion — this is exactly why I posted in a science-based community. 🙏

Reading this thread on 24% weight loss number hits close to home. Night shift nurse — I started at 263 lbs and felt like I would tried everything.

9 months on tirz and I am a different person. Not just the 38 lbs lost — my energy, my mood, my relationship with food. All transformed.

If you are on the fence about 24% weight loss — take the leap. It was the best health decision I have ever made. ❤️
