Using Bitcoin to buy legal products is completely legal. Research peptides are legal to buy and possess in the US (they're sold as "not for human consumption" research chemicals). The payment method doesn't change the legality of the underlying purchase.

That said, cryptocurrency transactions are not anonymous despite popular belief. Bitcoin is pseudonymous — transactions are recorded on a public blockchain. If you purchase BTC on a KYC exchange (Coinbase, etc.) and send it directly to a merchant, there's a clear trail linking your identity to the purchase. This is fine for legal purchases but worth understanding.

If privacy is a specific concern, that's a separate discussion (see the Monero/Lightning thread). But for most people making straightforward peptide purchases, basic Bitcoin is perfectly adequate and the 10-15% discount is worth the minor hassle of setting up a wallet.

Quick reference for common BTC payment scenarios:

ScenarioApproximate Cost
Coinbase fee (bank transfer)~1.5%
Cash App fee~1.5-2%
Network transaction fee (normal)$2-5
Typical supplier discount10-15%
Net savings vs credit card~7-12%

For a typical $200 peptide order, you're saving $14-24 by using Bitcoin even after accounting for exchange and network fees. Over a year of regular orders, that adds up.

One more tip: some suppliers use payment processors like CoinGate or BTCPay Server that generate a time-limited payment window (usually 15-30 minutes). Have your wallet ready and BTC purchased before starting checkout so you can pay promptly within the window.

This is exactly what I needed. Downloading BlueWallet now and going to set up a Cash App account. Will make my first BTC peptide purchase this week. Thanks for making it less intimidating! 👍
