🎉 MILESTONE: Insurance denied me AGAIN - I!

I can not believe I am typing this. A year ago I was in a very different place.

Numbers: A1C was 7.5, now 5.0.

Thank you to this community for keeping me sane through the hard parts. You know who you are. 🙏

stefan_berlin's experience with Insurance denied me AGAIN resonates deeply with mine. I went through almost the identical process — starting dose, titration timeline, side effects, everything.

The main difference: I started 3 months later. But the overall trajectory has been remarkably similar. Down 58 lbs in 13 months.

One thing I would add that stefan_berlin did not mention: the mental health improvements were just as significant.

Thanks for sharing this, stefan_berlin. A few questions about your Insurance denied me experience:

  1. What dose worked best for you?
  2. How long before you noticed appetite suppression kicking in?
  3. Did your endo have any specific recommendations about Insurance denie?

I am in a similar boat and trying to learn from others' experiences before my next appointment.

OP here — wow, did not expect this much response! Thank you all for the thoughtful replies on Insurance denied me AGAIN.

To answer MounjBrad: I get my labs done through Quest every 3 months.

Quick update: my latest labs came back even better. Thanks again for the evidence-based discussion — this is exactly why I posted in a science-based community. 🙏

Relevant to Insurance denied me AGAIN - I — here is my latest bloodwork comparison:

Key improvements: A1C 7.2% → 5.3%, triglycerides 191 → 91 mg/dL, hsCRP 6.0 → 0.9 mg/L. All on tirzepatide for 7 months.

The inflammatory marker drop is what impresses me most. Consistent with the SELECT trial's cardiovascular findings.
