MASH prevalence in GLP-1 users — November 2025

Wanted to share some data with the community since I know we're all about evidence here.

Background: I have been tracking everything meticulously since starting sema 12 months ago. Here's what I have found regarding mash prevalence in glp-1 users november.

I'll post my numbers below and would love to see others share theirs too. The more data points we have, the better we can all make informed decisions.

Fair warning — this is a long post. TL;DR at the bottom for those who do not want the full breakdown.

tampaLisa73's experience with MASH prevalence in GLP-1 resonates deeply with mine. I went through almost the identical process — starting dose, titration timeline, side effects, everything.

The main difference: I titrated faster. But the overall trajectory has been remarkably similar. Down 56 lbs in 11 months.

One thing I would add that tampaLisa73 did not mention: the relationship with food fundamentally changed.

Thanks for sharing this, tampaLisa73. A few questions about your MASH prevalence in experience:

  1. What dose are you currently on?
  2. How long before you noticed significant changes?
  3. Did your doctor have any specific recommendations about MASH prevalence?

I am in a similar boat and trying to learn from others' experiences before my next appointment.

OP here — wow, did not expect this much response! Thank you all for the thoughtful replies on MASH prevalence in GLP-1.

To answer TomFromTexas: yes, I am on compounded sema from a 503B pharmacy.

Quick update: things are still going well. Thanks again for the evidence-based discussion — this is exactly why I posted in a science-based community. 🙏

Relevant to MASH prevalence in GLP-1 users — here is my latest bloodwork comparison:

Key improvements: A1C 8.4% → 5.5%, triglycerides 249 → 119 mg/dL, hsCRP 8.0 → 1.3 mg/L. All on tirzepatide for 17 months.

The inflammatory marker drop is what impresses me most. Consistent with the SELECT trial's cardiovascular findings.
