Trying to decide between options regarding from wheelchair-bound to hiking again what and could use some input from people who have been there.

My situation: been on sema for 6 months considering a switch.

I have read the wiki and FAQ but real-world experiences would help me make a decision. What would you do in my position?

From wheelchair-bound to hiking again — I actually dealt with this exact situation around month 3.

Short answer: talk to your prescriber first. Longer answer: I wrote about my experience in the results forum if you want the full details.

Completely agree with Dr.SurgeonPGH. I would add that From wheelchair-bound to also has implications for body composition that sometimes get overlooked in these discussions.

In my case, following a similar approach led to fewer side effects compared to what I was doing before.

As a healthcare provider, I want to add some clinical context to this discussion on From wheelchair-bound to hiking again .

Building on what FDA_TrackerJim said — the evidence base here is well-established. The key publications to reference are from the FLOW program[1].

Key clinical points:

  1. Efficacy is dose-dependent and typically requires 4-5 weeks to reach steady state
  2. Side effect profile is predictable and usually manageable with standard protocols
  3. Monitoring should include baseline labs and follow-up at 3-month intervals
  4. Patient education significantly improves outcomes and adherence

Standard disclaimer: this is educational, not individualized medical advice.
