Not to be THAT person but have you considered that maybe 1.0 is your dose? I stayed at 1.0 for 5 months, lost 40lbs, A1C dropped from 7.8 to 5.9, and my endo said there was zero clinical reason to push higher. Not everyone needs 2.4mg.

Zofran + famotidine (Pepcid) together can be more effective than Zofran alone

I didn't know about the famotidine combo — I'm going to try that today. I have some Pepcid AC in the medicine cabinet already.

Update for everyone: Day 6 now and the nausea is definitely better than Day 3-4, which was the absolute worst. I can eat small amounts without wanting to die. I think I'll try to stick it out through the full 4 weeks before making a decision about dropping back.

Thanks for all the advice, this community is a lifesaver honestly.

Hang in there! I promise it gets better. Day 3-5 was the worst for me at every dose increase. By day 10-14 I was totally fine. Your body adjusts.

Also random tip — Sea-Bands (the acupressure wristbands for motion sickness). I know they sound like woo-woo nonsense but they actually helped me. Could be placebo, don't care, my stomach felt better 🤷‍♀️

One more thing to add — make sure you're not accidentally injecting intramuscularly. At 1.7mg you have more volume in the pen and if you're lean or injecting in a spot without much subQ fat, the deeper penetration of more volume can cause faster absorption and worse side effects. Pinch the skin, inject at 90 degrees, and make sure you're in fat tissue, not muscle.

I switched from thigh to abdomen at 1.7 and it made a noticeable difference in side effects for me.

UPDATE — Day 12. The nausea is like 90% gone. I'm so glad I stuck it out. The Pepcid + Zofran combo was a game changer, seriously. I've been eating small meals, mostly protein, and I feel almost normal again.

Also down another 4lbs since starting 1.7 💪

For anyone searching this thread in the future: the 1.0 → 1.7 transition SUCKS but it does get better. Give it 10-14 days before you make any decisions.
